We provide programmes right through the grades, from beginners to advanced climbers. We offer support and training for development of techniques for climbing rocks, cliffs or artificial walls in the Alps or in other well known spots (and beautiful hidden gems) in Europe. Our tineraries range from half day to several days. IFMGA professional guiding. Good physical condition is required.

ROCK climbing
Swiss Mountain Sports offers climbing courses and support with programmes for full or half days, on rock or on artificial walls. Reservation required, 7 / 7 availability.

Equipment Requirements

Good walking shoes, climbing shoes (can be hired for CHF 10 .-), rucksack, ideally: a harness, HMS screwgate carabiner, belay device, self-belay straps, slings, dynamic rope (enquire for hire), helmet. It can be hot on the rock - so bring sunglasses, sun protection cream, a water bottle - and cold at other times - so bring warm clothes too.

TREKKING and climbing
SMS Mountain Guide organizes trekking which has a focus climbing, with different itineraries for beginners right through to advanced. Reservations necessary so we can arrange exactly the right itineraries.

6 days' trek Bernina - Dolomites

Varied program featuring six days of mountain trekking, climbing, via ferrata, and climbing. Overnighting in cabins, mini-bus transfer, a technique-supervising IFMGA guide, (ask re equipment requirements). From 5 persons. Technical level: beginner to intermediate.

Programme :

Day 1 - Transfer to the refuggio (cabane/hut)  Diavolezza in the Bernina
Day 2 - Ascent of Piz Palu (3902m), descent and transfer to the Dolomites
Day 3 - Ascent into refuge, roping, climbing and technical analysis and tuition
Day 4 - Via ferrata 'delle Alte Bocchette' and trekking to further refuge
Day 5 - Lake hike and walk to a high altitude cabin
Day 6 - Lake and back to Valais

CLIMBING CAMP session V
Swiss Mountain Sports offers climbing camps under the supervision of IFMGA high mountain guides. Theory, practice, guided activities. Meals for 7 nights and 8 days of activities + language courses. From 7 years.
