SMS Snowboard Academy offers two distinct snowboard instructor courses: a full-time allowing you the opportunity to 'earn as you learn' (subject to visa eligibility) and a part-time weekend courses for those who have only the time to train towards certification on a part-time basis.

FULL-TIME SNOWBOARD instructor Formula outline

This course is ideal for gap year graduates or any one who would like to pursue a career in snow sports instruction. The programme is designed to maximise your poetential and give you time to develop your personal snowboarding ability. The long course duration allows you the freedom and flexibility to prepare for all aspects of instructing whilst still enjoying all that Crans-Montana resort winter season has to offer.

: from 5th of December 2011 to 31st of March 2012

General survey of the season formula

World class snowboard  instructor training (+215 hours of training)

Language courses of French / English (+60 hours)

At least 7 evaluations during the season

Theory courses and general work-shop about ski industry

Shared accomodation*

A season pass for Crans-Montana resort

Training in the Swiss Alps in a beautiful and large ski area 

The opportunity to train and earn (paid) as you work in conjunction with the SMS Snowboard School (subject to work visa eligibility)


Highly qualified staff to train and guide you through the duration of your course

Access to discounts on high qulity products through direct parteners as Rossignol, Goldwin, Helly Hansen, etc.

Access as competitor of the oldest Swiss ski race known to be the Trophée du Mont-Lachaux which is organised as a Super-G (individual and team races / snowboard category)

Personal development and work-shop.

Personal development on Snowpark.

week 6
Teaching classes analysis, demos & advanced teaching classes. Video analysis.

week 7
Teaching classes analysis, demos & advanced teaching classes. Video analysis. Language courses.

week 8
Relaxing week with no tuitions.

week 9
Developing personal skiing & revisiting progression. Language courses.

week 10
Personal development, lesson shadowing & video analysis. Evaluation. End of language courses. 

week 11
Personal development and lesson shadowing. Work-shop and analysis.

week 12
Personal development, analysis & lesson shodowing. Work-Shop. Exam's simulation.

Free-Style and Snowpark modules development. Video work-shop.

PART-TIME SNOWBOARD instructor Formula outline

This weekend programme is ideal for those who feel they would like to pursue an active career in snow sports instruction or would like to improve deeply their snowboarding ability and technical knowledge but only have the time to attend training on a part-time basis.
